Waterton Lakes NP…

Four nights spent in Waterton wandering around the backcountry up in the northwest corner of the park.

Fryatt Valley Trail, Jasper Alberta

Went for a 2 night trip up the valley. Here’s the report…

Pyramid Mountain bike and climb…

Still not being able to do any running because of my on going plantar fasciitis problem, I took off to Jasper for a couple of days. ┬áHere’s what happened on one of the days;

Tombstone summer hike

I was out here in November with snow on the ground. I thought I better come out in the summer and see what the place looked like. It was very nice.

another day on a trail…

Today was another great day to be outside so we went for a  hike on a trail along the North Saskatchewan River in the Edmonton river valley. We were just outside of Hawrelak Park but there wasn’t a lot of people on the trails on the side of the river we walked. It was sunny which made the walk all the better and having Sylvia along was great too.

A quick hike through the woods…

Sunny Saturday snowshoe…

Sylvia and I went out for a couple hour snow shoe through Hawrelak Park and the river valley trails. It was nothing too hard but a good walk considering we’ve been housebound by cold weather and some winter sickness. The temperature when we went out was -4c with the sun shining. We met lots of cross country skiers, some runners and even a few mountain bikers. The big house belongs to the owner of the Edmonton Oilers. He doesn’t live there!!
